COORDINATION IN PLANTS

RESPONSE TO STIMULUS

Plants show response to a stimulus either by going towards the stimulus or away from the stimulus. these are directional movements or tropic movements.




1.


The stem is positively phototropic.
Roots are negatively phototropic 

2.


Roots are positively geotropic.
The stem is negatively geotropic 


3.

Roots are positively hydrotropic.
The stem is negatively hydrotropic 


4. It is the response of the plants towards the chemicals. Eg. the pollen tube grows towards the chemical produced by style during fertilization.


5. The turning or bending of a plant or other organism in response to a touch stimulus.
