CLASS 10 CHAPTER 7
CONTROL AND COORDINATION
Day 2
Day 2
Dear Learners,
Thank you for Logging in! You're wonderful!😊
Note: Content written in blue should be recorded as notes in the Biology Notebook.
This is our second class for this chapter. At the end of it, you will be able to:
1. Explain reflex action.
2. Draw Reflex arc.
3. Explain the different components of the Reflex arc.
4. Explain the Human nervous system.
2. Draw Reflex arc.
3. Explain the different components of the Reflex arc.
4. Explain the Human nervous system.
Happy Learning!😊
Reflex Action:
These are the automatic spontaneous response towards the stimuli without the will of an organism. There is no involvement of the brain.
All the reflex actions are conveyed through the spinal cord by a path called Reflex arc.
Reflex arc has the following components:
(to be written in the notebook)
(For your understanding)
(To be drawn in bio notebook, Refer to pg. 117 of the N.C.E.R.T)
Examples of reflex action:
(to be written in the notebook)

Note: Though the brain is not involved in the reflex action, the information input also reaches to the brain.
Human Nervous System
(For your understanding)
CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM (CNS)
It is made up of two parts i.e. Brain and Spinal Cord.
Brain:
1. It is a coordinating center present in a bony case called Skull or Cranium which protects the brain from external injuries.
2. It is covered by three connective tissue layers called meninges.
3. There is a fluid called cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) that is present in between the membranes of the brain. It acts as a cushion and protects the brain from mechanical shocks. It helps in the transfer of neurohormones.
Assignment
- Read pg. 116-118 of the N.C.E.R.T
I hope it helped!
See you for the Next Class!
Take care.😊😊😊
